The Nurture of Bacchus (1632) is an oil on canvas painting by Nicolas Poussin. Dionysus the god of wine and intoxication known as Bacchus to Romans with uncertain origins - either Thracian or Greek. The painting (97 x 136 cm) is now in the Musee du Louvre Paris.
